Surface Stitcher – Improved Blending and Overlap Resolution

Surface Stitcher – Improved Blending and Overlap Resolution

Work continues on our newest application Surface Stitcher (not yet released). We have improved the blending algorithm used to create infill data where gaps are encountered and have finished implementing a feature to smoothly transition between surfaces where there are overlaps. The results are looking quite promising.

Blending/infill creation across gaps between surfaces:

Before:

Separate.1.wm

After:

Separate.2.wm

Transitioning between surfaces where overlaps exist:

Before:

Overlapping.1.wm

After:

Overlapping.2.wm

Blending where both gaps and overlaps exist:

Before:

Overlapping.3.wm

After:

Overlapping.4.wm
